Seasonal Aide

THE POSITION Job Summary Under general supervision to perform a variety of routine and repetitive manual or recreational duties on a seasonal basis and to perform related duties as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES (These functions are representative and may not be present in all positions in the class. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind related duties and work assignments.) Officiate and/or score keep clinic division T-Ball, flag football, soccer and basketball games. Prepare baseball, soccer, football fields, and basketball gyms for youth and adult sports games. Assist with setup and breakdown of park programs and citywide events. Assist with general cleaning at city facilities and grounds. Assist with basic office support such as organizing, scanning, copying, filing, etc. Assist with customer surveys for park programs and citywide events. Parking lot attendant for programs and citywide events. Patrol park grounds and facilities and inform of park rules and city municipal codes. Notify immediate supervisor of any hazards or safety concerns. QUALIFICATIONS A typical way to obtain the requisite qualifications to perform the duties of this class is as follows: Education and/or Experience: Completion of formal education sufficient to assure the ability to read and write at the level required for successful job performance. Applicant must be 16 years old to apply. Knowledge of: Sports, games and groups activities; first aid and safety. Skill and Ability to: Follow oral and written instructions. Learn and enforce safety regulations. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and must be insurable by the City's insurance carrier is highly desirable. WORKING CONDITIONS Employee accommodations for physical or mental disabilities will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Positions in this class normally: Stand, stoop, reach and bend. Require mobility of arms to reach and dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects.
