Seamstress

JOB SUMMARY:The Seamer/Seamstress assigns uniforms and performs fitting sessions, repairs, and completes alterations of uniforms to ensure proper fit. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assign uniforms and ensure proper measurements and fit Repair uniforms as needed Must inspect work prior to returning repairs for re-stocking or returning uniforms to employees rails Seamer must follow special instructions when given for alterations and new uniforms by supervisor or manager Sorts all discards for re-evaluation and takes useable buttons, trim, zippers, etc. Must keep work area organized and picked up Check rails for garments that are in need of repair Issue loaner uniforms Help out at uniform counter QUALIFICATIONS: Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner. Work requires a neat appearance with good hygiene. Work requires a minimum of 1 year related work experience. Work requires knowledge in all aspects of repairs, alterations and operating sewing equipment and must have basic computer knowledge.
