Exceptional Children's Outreach Assistant JOB DESCRIPTION: The teacher assistant for our Day Treatment Program is a paraprofessional who practices under the supervision of the Day Treatment Director. The assistant is primarily responsible for working with students in a small group, one-on-one or in a classroom setting with behavioral/mental health challenges. These services include providing implementation of behavior plans, collecting progress monitoring data, and teaching and modeling social emotional skills. RESPONSIBILITIES: Reinforce social emotional skills by reviewing and modeling these skills with students assigned Enforce school and class rules to help teach students proper behavior; Help in the collection of progress monitoring individual behavior plans and IEP goals related to behavior/social emotional Participates in in-service programs as assigned; Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures. Observes confidentiality and safeguards all student related information. Reports to the Day Treatment Director about student incidents/variances or complaints. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma and/or 48 college credit hours and/or Associate's Degree, OR HIgh School Diploma and passing score on the Work Keys test (administered by Rockingham Community College) Must be willing to obtain a bus drivers license. If hired must complete any training required for Day Treatment Program. Pay Grade 56
