Job Title: Scientist, Space Vehicle Integration and Test Engineer Job Code: 8115 Job Location: Palm Bay, FL Job Description: L3Harris Space Systems Sector within the Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) Segment has an opening for a Scientist, Integration & Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The individual will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and a collaborative team setting. This position will be responsible for providing Technical Leadership Integration & Test during planning and testing for Space hardware to customer-funded program effort within SAS. Responsibilities: Provides mastery-level system integration and test engineering expertise and technical leadership to a team during verification activities including functional, environmental qualification, and environmental production tests of Space equipment
Robust understanding of software and hardware verification plans, test procedures, executing the test procedures, and documenting test results to ensure system requirements are met
Lead requirements verification for components, subsystems, or systems
Lead Space hardware verification testing at acceptance, proto-flight and qualification levels for all relevant environments (vibration, thermal, vacuum)
Work with cross-discipline teams (mechanical, structural, thermal, power, optical, RF, electrical) in the development and execution of detailed test plans and procedures Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of engineering experience
5+ years of experience with integration of Satellite Subsystems and Space Vehicles Secret Clearance or Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance Preferred Additional Skills: Technical leadership with SI&T experience
Experience with Launch Vehicle Design, Integration, or Launch Operations
Experience with Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) and/or Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) design for Large Space Vehicles
Experience with Interface Definition Documents (IDD's), and Interface Control Drawings (ICD's)
Experience in Requirements managements, traceability, and verification with IBM Rational DOORS
Experience interfacing directly with customers (both prime contractors and end customers) on resolving in-depth technical issues during the development and sell-off of space hardware
Strong understanding of I&T development processes and life cycle
Experience in risk management
Team player, able to work in a fast program environment
