Title: Scientist I Chemistry

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Duration: 12 Months on W2

Shift: 6 AM- 2:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

" Synthesize polymer particles using established chemistries

" Participate in process optimization, development, and scale-ups for routine production

" Perform analytical characterization of polymeric particles using specialty equipment and instrumentation (including ion-chromatography, particle sizing, and surface area instruments)

" Analyze data, derive conclusions, document findings, write SOPs and prepare reports

" Present written and oral reports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary groups with R&D and manufacturing divisions

" Producing many of the resins that are key to the success of Thermo Fisher's Ion Chromatography portfolio

" Follow all EH&S safety requirements, participate in safety improvement activities, and carry out to ISO9001 guidelines and corporate quality policy

" Hands on experience in the Chemistry laboratory & wet chemistry

" Ability to summarize and present experimental results and have excellent verbal and written communication skills

" Must obtain Bachelor's degree in science related field

" Able to lift the weights up to 40 lbs and meet all physical demands to work in chemical laboratory
