OBJECTIVES:

Working in the Fibroinflammatory Disease Research teamin the GI2-DDU, the candidate will managepharmacology studiesfocused on thedevelopment of novel anti-inflammatory and/or anti-fibrotic drug candidates for the treatment of chronic fibrotic and/or inflammatory diseases.


You will be aexcellent team player with significantexperience in managing complex in vivo studies in rodents and/or NHPs. You will design and/or executein vivo research studiesin collaboration with internal research teams, external partners and CROS, including managing end-to-end processes to efficiently executepharmacology studies including establishing MSAs and SOWs with CROs, securing permits, shipping dosing solutions and receiving and distributing samples and data to relevant team members. You will need to be a highly collaborative and energetic scientistwith excellentorganizational skills, who can balance multiple, collaborative projects. You will be a critical team member in the success of multiple mechanisms of action and pharmacology studies for novel targets and drug candidates.


ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Supports and/or overseesResearch and Pharmacology studiesin collaboration with internal team members, external partners and CROs

  • Manages relevant in vivo target and drug candidate mechanism of action and pharmacology studies

  • Initiates and maintains relationships with variousUS and international CROstoestablish and maintain critical colonies for in vivo pharmacology studies

  • Secures relevant permits required for shipping and receiving samples from international CROs

  • Proactively identifiescomplex obstacles to progress in specific areas; recommends and implements solutions using a diverse set of resources; regularly adds value to research projects through the implementation of creative ideas

  • Communicate with colleagues effectively

  • Performs as a role model supporting Takeda culture and follow policies


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • PhD degree in a scientific discipline (or equivalent), or
    MS with 6+ years relevant experience, or BS with 8+ years relevant experience in vivo pharmacology studies

  • Demonstrated ability to independently solve scientific problems using multiple, state-of-the-art technologies and approaches

  • Demonstrates exceptional project management skills and in-depth in vivo pharmacology experience

  • Strongorganizational and effective communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience of maintaining critical relationships with international CROs

  • Knowledge of permitting requirements for shipping and receiving biological materials between the US and international CROs

  • The position will be based in Cambridge, MA.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$108,500.00 - $170,500.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.


U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
