Job Summary Job Summary ABOUT CALIFORNIA VIRTUAL ACADEMIES AND THE SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST POSITIONS: The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based instruction to TK-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. K12, inc. is our curriculum provider. School Psychologists will work from home most days while supporting students and their families through virtual means. The implementation and meeting of the IEP, psychological/mental health assessments, and behavioral support services are usually provided through virtual means which can include telephone, email, text, and various online platforms, such as Zoom. All required documentation will need to be completed per school psychologist duties. School Psychologists are required to schedule assessment sessions with students and families as necessary and will often meet their students in person and in some cases, have virtual components in testing administration and/or interviews. Assessments are done in a variety of settings such as libraries, in the home, or a mutually agreed upon public location. For behavioral assessments, the location will be wherever the student's regular educational day takes place. School Psychologists will also attend Needs Assessment Meetings (NAM) and Student Success Team (SST) meetings for students referred by teachers and parents. School Psychologists are required to attend IEP meetings and will use the SEIS program to create Assessment Plans and IEP-related documents. Assessments will be conducted and completion of Psychoeducational Assessment Reports, Review of Record Reports, and Default Review of Record Reports will be had. • Weekly basis: typically drive 20-40 miles one way, may drive up to 75 miles one way as needed.
• 1-2 times a month: may drive 2-3 hours one way
• A few times a year, fly to a location in CA HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Full Time: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00pm You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours. Full Time School Psychologists: Annual salary based on holding a Bachelors or Masters Degree and up to 3 years of experience in California See Salary Scale: We do participate in CalSTRS. • Valid/Current Preliminary/Clear California Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Psychology
