Job Type Full Time Benefits Eligibility Benefits Eligible Schedule $58,247 -$100,079 Position Purpose Provides support to children to help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Collaborates with educators, parents, and other professionals to help create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments. Evaluates students referred as potential candidates for Special Education programming and presents a report to the local education authority in collaboration with other educational specialists. Responsibilities: Practices ethical, legal, and professional standards as defined by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). Uses the general framework of the NASP Practice Model across 10 domains of practice for comprehensive service provision. Consult and collaborate with educational staff, families, and community stakeholders to support students' emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and academic needs. Provide consultation regarding Special Education disabilities, eligibility, and Special Education law for school personnel and families. Collaborates with outside agencies to support students' needs in the school setting. Promotes and collaborates on implementing system-wide educational initiatives such as Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS). In consultation with school-based practitioners, provide consultation for classroom management and training on best practices. Implement restorative practices in the educational setting. Listen to students' concerns about academic, emotional, or social issues. Provide individual and group mental health interventions as appropriate. Provide behavioral intervention and prevention support using a data-based decision model. Supports safe and positive school climates using research-based crisis prevention and preparedness models. Engage in IDEA child find/special education processes as a member of the multidisciplinary team Process referrals and facilitate the initial child find/special education process at the building level (compliance with Special Education process: evaluations and timelines); Conduct comprehensive evaluations for Special Education; share evaluation results and assist in determining eligibility for special education and appropriate services. Consult on the development of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and the development of Positive Behavior Support plans for implementation with the assistance of the teacher and family. Serve as a member of the Building Emergency Response Team. Provides intellectual assessment for early entrance, whole, or partial grade acceleration. Perform other related duties, as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's or specialist's degree (minimum of 60 graduate hours) from a NASP accredited program in School Psychology. Passed the Praxis-school Psychologist (5402) exam with a minimum passing score of 147 or Praxis School Psychologist (5403) exam with a minimum score of 145. Ability to possess a Valid North Dakota Teaching License with North Dakota School Psychologist credential Preferred Qualifications Completion of 1200-hour internship consisting of at least 600 hours in a school setting under the supervision of a licensed school psychologist.
