Possession of a credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing authorizing the performance of service as a school nurse or verification of qualifications to apply for a preliminary school nurse credential. A copy of your registered nurse license and credential or verification of qualifying must accompany your application. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required. Knowledge of the special education process requirements. Possession of a valid California Driver's License if required by the duties of the assignment. Fingerprint, TB Clearance. Letter of Introduction Resume Three Current Letters of Recommendation within 1 yr Valid School Nurse Credential Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of the Santa Ynez Valley Special Education Consortium the Nurse will be responsible for meeting the individual healthcare needs of students across the Santa Ynez Valley; incorporating healthcare plans directed by physicians; complying with the laws relating to student health, including parental and guardian consent; providing appropriate care of ill, medically fragile and/or injured students; providing health information, serving as a resource to teachers, staff, and administrators; and identifying health problems for referral tor proper treatment. The compensation for the Nurse position will be based on the certificated salary schedule.
