Job Description Job Description Summary:

Prepares manufacturing work orders for and sales orders through material requirements planning (MRP). Analyze and release work orders to manufacturing to meet schedule demands. Responsible for all work order creation and modification within selected manufacturing departments delegated by Senior Production Planner or management. Exercise judgement within generally defined procedures to determine appropriate action. Assists with planning, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates. Their duties include managing material and equipment availability, scheduling production and monitoring the production process for problems.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Reviews the customer requests for quotes and verifies time availability within the production schedule.
  • Develops and implements master production schedule, production plans and releases all production work orders;
  • Monitors/Audits the scheduling system for traceability, flow of work and efficiency of system;
  • Oversees the proper distribution and usage of scheduling reports and dispatch lists;
  • Implements various material strategies (make-to-stock, make-to-order) maximizing on-time customer performance and minimizing assets employed.
  • Coordinates with shipping and receiving for expediting functions;
  • Interfaces with Material Control ensuring that all material and hardware are issued and staged before operation start date.
  • Conducts daily production meetings to communicate the schedule to manufacturing and to identify and resolve issues as they occur;
  • Maintains master files in data system, including work centers, operation codes and production calendars.

Skills and Experience:
  • Prior experience as a production planner in the industry preferred.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office
  • PLEX UX a plus (ERP)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong regard for product quality and safety standards
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to sit for prolonged hours
  • Ability to organize and support special projects and continuous improvement plans.
