Through three generations and eight decades of experience, we have built a strong reputation in the produce trade and built key relationships with our California avocado growers and our export partners in Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Colombia.

We are looking to bring on board a Sales Representative who is a forward thinker with strong produce experience to help build strategic plans and drive revenue growth. You will be based in Fallbrook, CA with occasional travel to customers and trade shows. In this role, you will work closely with leadership in developing and executing a sales strategy that drives revenue growth that is aligned with sourcing availability and opportunities. The position requires a sales professional with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong customer relationships and a deep understanding of the fresh produce industry, preferably with experience in the uniquely-natured avocado market. You will own the entire sales cycle from new business development to account management and retention.

McDaniel Fruit Company offers a base salary range of $120,000-180,000/yr, health insurance, 401k, paid time off, paid holidays, cell phone, and all company travel is covered.

Key responsibilities:
•   Sales Strategy & Revenue Generation
•   Collaborate with senior management to align avocado sales objectives with business goals
•   Drive sales growth by identifying business opportunities and expanding customer base
•   Negotiate pricing and complete RFQs for new and existing customers
•   Forecast the needs of retail, food service, and wholesale partners to better plan sourcing and production needs
•   Customer Relationship Management
•   Maintain key relationships with customers providing timely market updates, site visits, and trade show presence.
•   Manage recurring pricing negotiations and RFQs based on market forecasts
•   Address customer inquiries and manage customer-specific requirements
•   Logistics
•   Coordinate freight for delivered orders and inter-warehouse transfer freight
•   Assist in management of inventory overages and shorts to cover orders and avoid shrink
•   Cross-Functional Collaboration
•   Collaborate with other departments including operations, logistics and executive leadership to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
•   Provide valuable insights based on market feedback Qualifications
•   Experience selling fresh produce, preferably avocados, and experience dealing with major retail chains or food service providers is preferred
•   Excellent communication, negotiations, and interpersonal skills
•   Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
•   Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills that allow for success in a highly dynamic industry
•   Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel for data entry and model maintenance
