HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified Sales Manager for our South Texas Stabilized Sand business. The position will reside in Houston, TX.

The position of Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the Sales and Marketing programs within the sales territory.

Reporting to the VP/GM of South Texas Stabilized Sand, this position will be responsible for the direct supervision and professional development of a 4-5-person sales team throughout the Houston area. Responsibilities will also include forecasting, planning, marketing, and selling assistance for all products in the market while focusing on growing existing and prospective customers to increase market share and improving profit margins.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS

Leader in change management particularly as it pertains to driving a strong safety culture.

Develop and maintain relationships with key contractors and consulting engineers in assigned territory.

Coordinate and direct the bidding process on projects within the geographic sales territory.

Develop and implement technical marketing programs to ensure that our competitive position is established, maintained and/or improved.

Develop annual sales plan and budgets in conformance with corporate strategy.

Identify and develop new opportunities for market and product expansion within assigned territory.

Responsible for achieving annual business plan results for assigned territory.

Responsible for management and results of sales team members for assigned area.

Responsible for annual salary and performance appraisals of subordinates.

Provide and coordinate technical sales support and direction to sales team.

Responsible for timely and accurate market data, forecasts and project tracking for assigned territory and sales team.

Provides management with annual forecast of total market, projected bookings and profit margins.

Participate in industry trade and technical activities.

Assist corporate management with development of strategic marketing plans to expand and enhance our bottom-line results.

Work with manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance staffs to develop action programs required to meet current industry standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in related field

Minimum of five years' experience in stabilized materials, sand, and aggregate sales

Must have experience as utility supplier and/or contractor.

Results oriented.

Technical aptitude, analytical and problem solver.

Good communication, customer service, management and interpersonal skills.

Working knowledge of business mathematics and statistical analysis.

Proficient computer, word processing, and spreadsheet skills.
