Job Summary This position is responsible for working with operations and management to ensure compliance with the Graniterock Safety & Health Program at Branches and/or job sites, ensuring alignment with Graniterock's Strategic Priorities and business objectives. Essential Job Accountabilities Comply, understand, and promote corporate and division safety initiatives to ensure "Safety Before All Else." Develop and conduct hands-on safety training in a variety of topics, including the proper use of small tools used at job sites. Document all safety subjects such as training, inspections, and observations utilizing HCSS and other appropriate means. Conduct or coordinate training on Graniterock safety & health policies and programs for existing team members and/or new hires. This will include initial new hire training, New Miner training, and SafeStart training. Assist the Safety Managers and Safety Engineers with identifying and developing the safety and health processes to reduce the risk of incidents occurring and improve compliance with regulatory safety and health requirements to include MSHA inspections and Quarterly Safety Audits. Assist with commercial vehicle and driver needs to include participating in the Subhauler inspection process, Biennial inspection of Terminal (BIT) and inspection process, conduction training and inspection of Driver Logs, and performing driver qualification check rides. Assist the Safety Team with promoting rail safe practices and compliance. Promote safety awareness by developing and distributing memorandums, safety bulletins, safety alerts and specific task training programs. Other duties as assigned by the Chief Safety Officer or Safety Manager. Education and Work Experience High School Diploma, or related equivalent, relevant work experience. Desirable 10+ years working at a craft position. Extensive knowledge of working around mobile equipment and stationary plant equipment. Commercial Driver license desirable. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient in reading and speaking Spanish is desirable. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information of Team Members. Ability to cultivate trusting, professional, and respectful relationships with all Team Members. Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). General knowledge of Cal/OSHA, MSHA, DOT regulations. Knowledge of construction Safe Work Practices. Strong written and oral communication skills, both English and Spanish desirable. Ability to meet deadlines. Public speaking and presentation skills a must. Sense of urgency. Leadership skills to promote and influence a positive work environment. Ability to work weekends and outside of regular business hours, as needed.
