Safety Technician

Job Description In this position, you'll have the opportunity to: help drive the safety initiatives by assisting with the EHSS programs and initiatives in Distribution/Warehouse operations. Associates are responsible for participating in our Company's incident and injury prevention programs as well as our Company's environmental programs. All associates must comply with our environmental, health and safety polices and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. Key Responsibilities: Support achievement and implementation of OSHA and other regulatory agency requirements Assist in incident/injury investigations and implementation of corrective actions Conduct trainings, new hire orientation, compliance training, forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, LOTO, etc. Participate and support program driving participation, data entry, evaluation and reporting Participate in shift meetings Maintain training records Work with OPUS reporting system to review data, input data, create reports Answer questions and provide guidance to associates, supervisors and contractors Update safety charts and reports as necessary Assist with Safety Initiatives on Production floor. Assist with Contractor Safety requirements Participate with ergonomic initiatives Facilitate safety shoe and prescriptive eyewear programs. Assist with preparation of hazardous waste shipment Other duties as assigned
