Hourly Pay Rate: $18-$21

Who We Need

The Safety Technician performs accurate clerical and/or bookkeeping duties for the fire safety programs and is responsible for providing, support, and the independent management of key operational functions for the program, including external relations and reporting requirements. Completes and submits required inspections, reports, and records in a timely and efficient manner to include coordinating all fire and building safety inspections. Maintains all fire safety inspection reports required for inspection by Federal, State, County, or City laws and regulations for compliance and licensure requirements for various programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires any combination of training, education, and experience listed below:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and
  • Satisfactory work history as determined by Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of the required experience.
  • Familiarization with OSHA and Hazardous Material Regulations as applies to general industry.
  • Ability to use various Microsoft program such as Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to learn other computer programs such as SmartSheet, and
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and meet agency personnel requirements.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to meet Copa Health's driver eligibility requirements.
  • Upon hire provide 39 month MVR, Copy of Arizona Driver's license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration.

JOB SUMMARY (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
  • Demonstrates ability to adhere to agency policies and licensure requirements;
  • Intermediate computer skills including the ability to input/track all required data; (i.e.; tracking fire equipment, scheduling fire inspections, quarterly inspections on all housing locations, and safety facility reviews).
  • Quarterly Internal Inspections (OSI's); Schedule, complete, change bulbs, change batteries on-site as needed, complete Facility Reviews for each site location;
  • External Inspections: Scheduling and meeting on-site for Annual Inspections with Fire Departments, Fire Service provider, obtaining and scanning final reports to the CopaNet platform;
  • Deliver updated fire and alarm permits to all commercial locations;
  • Ensure all Fire Standard Operating Procedures are current, and follow up with applicable fire department;
  • Serve as liaison between programs for all fire services;
  • Create work orders as needed.
  • Conduct monthly Elevator Inspections
  • Submit invoices for payment;
  • Attends relevant meetings, events, and training;
  • Works effectively and cooperatively with members of the department staff, administration, the community, and external clients and customers;
  • Maintain and improve knowledge on OSHA and Hazardous Material Regulations;
  • Able to work with minimal supervision;
  • To ensure compliance & adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and or department.
