Safety & Occupational Health Specialist with Security Clearance

Duties You will serve as a SWFPAC Nuclear Weapons Radiological Control Officer (NWRCO). You will advise the Commanding Officer on questions concerning biological effects on personnel and the risks associated with low-level radiation exposure. You will assist with the planning, coordination and conduct of internal drills and exercises involving nuclear weapons radiological incidents. You will perform systems analysis to identify all required equipment and resources to support emergency management teams are available a t SWFPAC. You will perform as PRP Certifying Monitor for Strategic Weapons Facility, Pacific (SWFPAC) Personnel Reliability Program. You will maintain and monitor Nuclear Radiological Control records and act as the liaison with Navy medical for examinations and screenings. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing safety and occupational health concepts, principles, and practices to provide solutions on radiological controls (e.g. stowage, maintenance, handling of weapons) ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.) OR LL.M., if related (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)
