Doherty Career Solutions is partnering with a local Greater St. Cloud, MN area company as they search for a Safety Manager to join the thriving team. The Safety Manager is responsible for directing and providing safety oversight to multiple facilities. The position oversees development and implementation of behavior-based safety practices, audits functions for safety procedure implementation, ensures compliance with corporate, OSHA, and client safety requirements, and conducting root-cause analysis of health and safety incidents. The Safety Manager monitors and documents the effectiveness of safety control measures used throughout the company and directs the onsite safety representatives in the implementation of the Safety Program. The position will manage the development of site-specific health and safety plans by ensuring company compliance standards and goals are met and exceeded. Salary will depend upon experience but will range from $80,000-120,000. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Ensure all facilities meet conformance with corporate, state/federal safety and health standards.
  • Monitor and maintain safety equipment; including but not limited to; extinguishers, eyewash stations and build relationship with local fire department, and equipment vendors.
  • Manage and maintain company's written health and safety programs. Including, but not limited AWAIR, Personal Protective Equipment, Emergency Action Plans, Crisis Management Policy, etc.
  • Maintain all health and safety related documents including, but not limited to; First Report of Injury (FROI), OSHA 300 logs, training, testing and inspection records.
  • Create and maintain a periodic safety inspection process with leadership and ensure the inspections are completed, accurate and action items are executed in a timely manner.
  • Prevent work-related injuries and illnesses by assessing trends, evaluating FROI, ensure accurate reporting and filing of FROI to leadership and insurance company.
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve the health and safety culture by conducting regular training, bulletins, memos, on-the-spot coaching and communication with employees.
  • Responsible for hazard assessments. Including, but not limited to (PPE), Lockout/Tagout, Permit Required Confined Space, Hazard Communication, and Industrial Hygiene needs.
  • Lead the Safety Team, by ensuring regularly conducted meetings are scheduled, attended and action items are executed in a timely manner.
  • Partner with insurance companies, safety consultants, vendors, and clients, as necessary to ensure best practice standards are met and maintained.
  • Manage, maintain, and minimize impacts of operations on employees' health and safety.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in environmental, health and safety related field preferred.
  • The position requires 30-50% travel.
  • 2-5 years' experience running a Safety program.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of health and safety principles and practices.
  • Ability to be objective and offer recommendations and to set priorities.
  • Ability to build relationships and drive a health and safety culture.
