Safety & Hiring Manager

Baltimore, MD

We are looking for an individual with the flexibility to manage Site Safety onsite at projects and manage the hiring of our skilled trade team which include Pipefitters, Welders, and Millwrights. This dynamic position will be split between the two responsibilities and have a home office located in Glen Burnie, MD. Travel to various jobsites from the Baltimore area to jobs around the I-81 corridor in MD, VA and WV will be required. They work with a wide range of environments to include food grade manufacturing, chemical processing, power plants, refineries, and warehouses.

PROJECTS INCLUDE:

Storage Tanks, Make Up Tanks, Process Tanks

Pumps

Process and Utility Piping, Valves, and Instrumentation

Process Manufacturing Equipment Removal or Installation

Structural Access Platform, Ladder and Stairway Fabrication & Erection

Conveyor Systems

Selective Demolition of items described above.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (SITE SAFETY):

Develop, implement, and execute health & safety guidelines.

Conduct/track safety training (new hire orientation, annual training, lift training, etc.).

Communicate guidelines to employees and develop relevant policies to maintain a safe workplace.

Investigate accidents/incidents and provide recommendations for improvement and prevention.

Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.

Report on health, safety & environmental practices on jobsites to assess conditions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES (HIRING MANAGER):

Meet with management to determine current needs for craft labor new hires.

Seek qualified talent based on qualities, skills and responsibilities needed to excel in open positions.

Conduct interviews & review with management to decide on the best applicants for position.

Negotiate terms of employment and ensure company policies are followed.

Onboarding and Safety training for new hires.

Developing Job descriptions.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

3-5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in an industrial environment.

Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies.

OSHA 30 Certified

Flexibility to travel between projects on a daily and/or weekly basis.

Willing to work 40-50 hours per week (Mon Fri), with the flexibility to inspect night shift and/or weekend work as required.

Travel expenses will be reimbursed by the company at a competitive rate.

Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines & OSHA safety regulations.

Experience working within a hiring role that involves recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding employees.

Reliable transportation with active driver's license.

US Citizen and/or Green Card Verified.
