Safety, Health & Environmental Manager Freeport, TX (On-site) The Safety, Health & Environmental Manager ensures Site Operations are in compliance with all applicable regulations (internal and external) with respect to Safety (also Process Safety), Health, Environmental and Security and develops and sustains a SHE culture that supports this. Key Responsibilities: Sets and establishes the vision for Safety (both occupational and process) at the Freeport site with multiple stakeholders. Shares the initiatives, timelines and costs necessary to achieve that vision. Tracks the progress against milestones. Ensures SHE and Security Systems meet Federal, State and Corporate requirements. Plans and executes environmental management systems (ISO 14001). Monitors the waste streams from the plant regularly to determine if in compliance with TCEQ operating permits. Obtains and maintains necessary SHE and Security-related operating permits for the Freeport site. Participates in Site Leadership Team and Invest / Improve Boards. Contributes to the overall success of the Freeport site with insight and ideas through team collaboration. Serve as OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) champion for the site for covered processes. Lead through closure of PSM corrective actions and ensure items are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner. Lead or participate in pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs) for covered processes. You Bring: Bachelor degree in a chemistry or chemical engineering. 8 to 10 years in a plant environment and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a process industry environment (e.g., chemical reactions, high pressure systems, etc.) with demonstrated exposure to SHE systems. SHE or other operational experience in industrial environment such as chemical plant Experience in supervising / managing direct reports, contractors, etc. is required. Demonstrated success collaborating and working in a team environment and coordinating multiple resources without direct supervision is required. Experience with OSHA Process Safety Management required. Experience assessing operational risks is required. Knowledge of Behavioral Based Safety Programs (e.g. SafeStart) is required. Basic knowledge of RC 14001 preferred.
