Summary Description of Position Responsible for providing administrative support for the division's Safety Health and Environmental Department. SHE administrator provides tracking and reporting documents to regulatory agencies on a timely basis. This position organizes SHE department records, applications, and permits. This self-motivated person must manage their time to accomplish SHE department deadlines and goals. Detailed organizational skills are needed to track and properly document SHE department programs, including workers comp cases, Injury cases, environmental permitting, and invoice payment. Key Responsibility Areas Responsibilities include recordkeeping, file maintenance, and production of reports on a wide variety of activities, including accidents and injuries, worker's compensation, MSHA inspections, blasting, safety training, Industrial Health, DOT compliance, safety bonus program administration, environmental permits & applications, and invoice payment. Education, Experience, Skills Required Education: A High School Degree or GED is required; a college degree is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years administrative assistant or office manager experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Perform Administrative functions for the SHE department Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, including ability to communicate effectively to SHE staff and hourly employees Ability to read and interpret regulatory reporting requirements and deadlines Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities and work independently to accomplish objectives Be able to produce time-sensitive reporting documents and submit to agencies Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision Track and report workers' injuries to government agencies Manage & track workers comp claims and related milestones Assist the Safety and Health Department in tracking hearing conservation program Assist in coding and processing invoices for SHE department File and log Environmental permits and applications Update the Corporate SHE database on a regular basis Assist in annual permit fee payments to government agencies Assist SHE department in scheduling and organizing training seminars for division personnel.
