SAFETY COORDINATOR

Job Description

Price Industries Inc. is on the search for a Safety Coordinator, for its growing US office and manufacturing facility located in Winder, Georgia. This position will report to the Safety Directory, will ensure that the company's operation complies with state, federal and local legislation and codes that govern health and safety. The successful candidate will create policies and procedures that enable compliance and safety guidelines and regulations. This would include organizing safety training for all employees which includes specializes training for maintenance personnel, forklift operations, mechanical power presses and other specialized training initiatives. Identify company safety-training needs and develop/coordinate safety-training programs. Maintain documentation and record all training initiatives. The incumbent will be required to carry out assessments of potential risks and the means to abate existing and potential hazards. Proper recordkeeping of OSHA 300 Logs is essential to facilitate a well-maintained safety program.

Responsibilities


• Maintain the safety and health vision of Price Industries, Inc.


• Manage Worker's Compensation claims by investigating the circumstances that led to the accident


• Responsible for reporting claims to the Carrier while minimizing cost and eliminating fraudulent claims


• Lead the plant's Safety Committee with focus on raising safety awareness and creating a safe work environment free from incidents


• Maintain safety checks and authorize the use of equipment being installed for electrical safety, proper function of the equipment, while maintaining ergonomic standards and guidelines that promote worker productivity, safety and health, including accessibility and visibility


• Maintain documentation on required safety checks for all Part Revolution Presses for the entire year


• Authorize PPE for the company through an annual PPE assessment


• Inspect all machinery, hoses, electrical connections, foot pedals, lighting, guards, light curtains, and all other safety devices routinely


• Schedule the annual audiometric testing for plant employees. Maintain audiometric records and supporting documents


• Be prepared to meet with the Safety Steering Committee to discuss the plants recordable injuries and any strategic planning for your facility


• Check on housekeeping, exit lighting, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers routinely


• Emergency Response and preparedness is your responsibility


• Hazard Communication Program and MSDS/SDS proper listing is also your responsibility


• Handle an OSHA inspection


• You are responsible for ordering and maintaining medical supplies
