Strom Engineering Minnesota has an exciting new opening for an experienced Roofing Consultant / Designer with a great company located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Job responsibilities include providing roof consulting related to roof design and detailing for a company that is focused on components of the building enclosure including roofs, walls, windows, waterproofing, pavements and other specialty areas.
Duties/Skills:
Ability to apply knowledge of low-slope and steep-slope roofing systems and understand construction, as well as the use and application of sealants, flashings, thermal insulation and air/water/vapor barrier materials.
Provide roof design and detailing for roofing and related projects
Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and technical specifications and have a general understanding of structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
Work with clients and consulting staff to develop new architectural details and/or remedial details and specifications for roofing systems.
Work outdoors on roofs doing field verification of existing conditions to develop construction documents.
Perform necessary physical activities relating to roof field work including climbing stairs and ladders, carrying and working with tools, using safety equipment as needed.
Communicate clearly and utilize excellent writing skills.
