Road/Highway Superintendent

Description:

We are a growing road construction company seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Superintendent to join our local operations team. This is a management position that requires supervising and coordinating activities of Asphalt Paving Foremen and crew members engaged in various paving tasks.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety of crew members and the public on job sites.

Train Asphalt Foremen and new crew members.

Calculate the number of trucks required to haul asphalt from the hot plant.

Supervise and coordinate crew activities, ensuring compliance with job estimates.

Maintain time and materials records for daily job costing.

Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and crew performance.

Directly supervise multiple crews.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

5+ years of experience managing paving crews required.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Asphalt Paving Levels 1 & 2 certification required.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, and perform basic mathematical calculations.

Proficiency in using keyboards and database software.

Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.

Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.

Must meet company MVR requirements and possess a valid Florida driver"s license.
