Position Summary

The purpose of the Registered Nurse (RN) is to deliver care to residents utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation under the direction of the residents' attending physician. The RN will effectively interact with residents, family and other health team members while maintaining all standards of professional nursing.

Essential Functions
  • Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of preventative therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care of assigned resident as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive resident care outcomes.
  • Performs independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards.
  • Admits and assess residents including initial care plan.
  • Administers assessments, treatments, medications, and diets accurately, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes.
  • Completes all required resident charting every shift.
  • Makes rounds on unit every shift; assess orderliness, infection control and resident care
  • Observes and documents changes in residents' condition and report to the attending physician and other departments.
  • Participates in discharge planning with physician, and other departments according to residents' needs.
  • Directs, supervises, and assists CNAs and other nursing staff in providing bedside care.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the resident's care as evidenced by other department feedback and coordinates communication among team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Valid PA state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Current AHA health care provider training (BCLS).
  • Demonstrated experience within a skilled nursing facility and ability to provide proof of such experience.
