RN - Special Procedures

Job Description
Registered Nurses in Special Procedures are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. These RN's provide clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift.

Dept: Special Procedures

Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 4 days/week - 9 hour shifts (6:30am-4pm)

Starting Wage Based on Applicable Experience: $30.56/hour

Requirements: RN, BSN preferred, experience with Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, and/or Conscious Sedation preferred

Responsibilities
Assessment- Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation. Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data. , Assists with GI diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and performing cleaning of scopes., Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team to address issues related to patients through the process of mutual information sharing, discussion, and decision making., Consistently documents care and service in accordance with current Plan for Provision of Care, systems (i.e. Meditech) and protocols., Consistently processes patient charges for procedures and supplies correctly., Coordination of Care- Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients., Diagnosis - Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues., Educates patients and families appropriately for their procedures and treatment., Evaluation- Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes. Reports data and outcomes to as appropriate to physician and/or other disciplines., Handles patient phone calls for patient education and/or reassurance needs., Implementation - Implements care and supervises care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards., Knowledge - In collaboration with Leader/Director, actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the unit, unit based in-service programs, reading current literature and seeking new clinical learning opportunities. , Outcomes Identification - Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation., Participates in the ongoing variance monitoring of clinical pathways., Performs and assists with procedures including, but not limited to conscious sedation, pain management, IV therapy, blood and byproduct administration, bronchoscopy, minor surgery, Planning - Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes., Provides rationale for patient care decisions based on standards of care specific to department. , Relationships - Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team. Identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions., Takes call after hours as assigned., Teaching - Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.

Requirements:
ADN (Required)

ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support W/I 90 Days - Sarah Bush Lincoln, BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire. - Sarah Bush Lincoln, RN-Registered Nurse - Sarah Bush Lincoln
