POSITION OVERVIEW:
The school Nurse will oversee medical administration needs and address medical issues affecting students within Hampden County.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current and valid License as a Registered Nurse from the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Nurses
- RN Required; BSN preferred.
- CPR- BLS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advise staff on and address day-to-day medical issues/needs and emergencies of students.
- Oversee the administration of all medication and treatments for all students according to guidelines set by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
- Inventory control and record keeping according to state and federal guidelines for all medications.
- He/she will communicate effectively with Program Director in regard to student and administrative issues.
- Participate in the ordering and storage of medical supplies and medication according to program, state, and federal guidelines.
- When necessary, help to create medical protocols for specific student needs, including EpiPen training for staff.
