HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball - Tomball, Texas Registered Nurse (RN) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is a 350-bed offering a wide variety of services, including emergencycare, labor and delivery, a level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU),general surgery, orthopedics, and robotic surgery. The hospital's 150-acrecampus also features The Tomball Regional Orthopedic Center, The Women'sCenter, Texas Sports Medicine Center, and The Heart and Vascular Center.

HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is affiliated with HCA HoustonHealthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is acomprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergencycenters and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christiand South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory carecenters, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What you will do in this role:
  • Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and/or Nurse Manager,responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and, whenapplicable, appropriately delegates and supervises tasks to provide optimumpatient care.
  • Fulfills the duty and responsibility to maintain competence and tocontinue personal and professional growth.
  • Participates in establishing, maintaining, and improving patientshealth care goals through patient assessment, planning and implementation ofnursing interventions and evaluation of patient outcomes.
  • Identifies and assists with opportunities for performanceimprovement activities on the unit and with other service areas.
  • Accurately and completely documents all aspects of care given.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by taking ownership of timemanagement, decreasing waste (of time and supplies) and promoting costeffectiveness.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be an advocate for and strive toprotect the health, safety and rights of the patient.
  • Interactions with patients and colleagues demonstrate compassionand respect for the inherent dignity, worth, and uniqueness of everyindividual, unrestricted by considerations of social or economic status orcultural beliefs.
  • Communicate effectively with other care providers (physicians,nurses, business office, and medical records) to provide for continuity ofpatient care and to meet the needs of the customers we serve.
  • Demonstrates ability to fulfill requirements of attendance,punctuality, and timekeeping practices.
  • Behaviors and interactions demonstrate a positive attitude,personal initiative and motivation to achieve the goals of the unit.
  • To uphold the standards of the profession and organization andpractice ethically and with integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
  • BSN, required
  • Clinical experience as an RN in NICU required
  • Current RN licensure by Texas Board of Nursing or a Board ofNursing from a compact state.
  • Current BCLS certification required.
  • NRP required within 90 days of hire
  • STABLE certification within 90 days of hire
