As a Surgery nurse you mustbe detail oriented, flexible, able to juggle multiple priorities withoutmissing a beat, adept with technical skills, a team player, and must haveexcellent communication skills. You must also be able to think critically in afast-paced, challenging environment. There are many surgical sub-specialtiesfor learning, including neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, trauma, pediatrics,oncology, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, ear/nose/throat, dental,orthopedics, plastic and reconstructive, and transplant surgery.

  • Team-oriented and fast-paced environment serving a diverse patient population.

  • 10 OR Suites, Level II Trauma Center.

Responsibilities:
  • Under the general direction of the Director or Manager, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care.
  • Nursing care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and the generic and unit structure standards.
  • The Registered Nurse in department 701 Surgery provides care for birth to pediatric, pediatric/child patients between 1 to 11 years of age; adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.


Qualifications

What Qualifications You Will Need:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Current RN licensure required. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Ability to achieve and maintain BCLS certification required.
  • Prior experience required. Previous clinical experience in area of specialty preferred.
