MedCare Staffing is seeking a Nurse for a GYN Post-Surgical unit for a position North of Dallas. This hospital is a 796-bed tertiary care center and is recognized for its state-of-the-art medical facilities and leading organ transplant program. The hospitals robotic surgery staff are pioneers in performing minimally invasive surgery, which reduces pain, blood loss, and scarring, while also shortening the recovery period for patients. The facility also specializes in rehabilitation, heart and vascular care, and women's services, among other services. THis facility also detects and treats all kinds of cancer while providing a calming and secure environment for its patients and respective family members. Shift: Full Time-Nights (Rotating Weekends) The Women's GYN / Surg RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Job Responsibilities: Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs. Prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources. Carries out physician orders. Assists physician during examination, treatment and procedures. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs. Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Instructs and educates patients and families. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Provides age and culturally appropriate care. Orients and mentors new staff members. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Details Patient Ratio 1:4/1:5 GYN, GYN ONCOLOGY, PLASTICS, WOMENS MED/SURG OVERFLOW Patients are level 1-4 acuity Average of cases, patients, deliveries, etc. per month or year: 415 per month before COVID Education: BSN, required Experience Prefered: Acute care Med Surg Oncology Licensure and certification: Current TX RN license, or valid compact license BLS, American Heart Association, required NRP, required within 9 months If interested and qualified please apply at
