Psychiatric Nursing Manager / RN - Registered Nurse

Sunrise Vista is currently seeking an experienced RN to serve as Nursing Manager in our therapeutic hospital setting providing care and treatment to patients who are mentally ill.

Shift is 6pm-4am. 4 - 10 hour shifts

The Nursing Manager is responsible for actively participating in the planning, and supporting the delivery of quality general and psychiatric nursing care consistent with the facility's goals and objectives. Duties include staffing, leading in assigned nursing administration areas such as Infection Control, maintaining needed supplies, Staff Education and competency review. Provides immediate supervision when on the patient floor and acts as DON Designee as assigned. The Nursing Manager supervises the direct care nursing team, ensures that the inpatient programs are staffed with the appropriate resources to ensure high quality of nursing care delivery, assists with orientation for new employees, and collaborates with nursing staff on maintaining a high level of service and quality medical care.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • RN with a current nursing license as required by Ohio State Law.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current CPR license.
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of previous clinical experience performing a variety of personal care, nursing care, and related technical work, including in psychiatric settings.
  • Prior supervisory experience required (2 years preferred).
  • Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of practical nursing principles and practices, patient age groups and the developmental process characteristic of these age groups, and the ability to provide care and/or treatment that is appropriate to the age, medical condition, and/or developmental status of the patients served.
  • Must be able to observe, record, and report on the general and specific physical and mental conditions of the patients, as well as the signs and symptoms that may be indicative of significant changes in the condition of such patients.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with a team of inter-disciplinary professionals, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state, federal and regulatory requirements.
  • Occasional weekends and holidays required
