The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.



Education:

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required


Experience:

  • 6 Months Nursing - Acute Care Preferred

  • 2000 hours Nursing - Direct bedside care in a step down or Telemetry unit, CCU or Cardiac Tele Must be Obtained within last 2 years - Core Requirement


Certifications/Licensures:

  • RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing Required

  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required

  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Core Requirement

  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required prior to completion of orientation to the assigned area

  • Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11/15/2018) Required

  • Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Internal Candidates Must Pass Prior to Applying for Position (must be proctored in Human Resources) - Required


Skills:

Core:

  • Demonstrates competency in the care of the cardiac patient pre and post interventional procedures, and thoracic surgery (including esophageal).

  • Demonstrates competency in the management and regulation of selected vasoactive and antiarrhythmic agents.

  • Demonstrates competency in the management of patients requiring conscious sedation during elective cardioversion.

  • Demonstrates competency in the initiation of transcutaneous pacing.

  • Demonstrates competency in the management of stable DKA patients.






Work Shift: 12.0 - 19:00 - 07:30 (United States of America)



Pay Range:

$73.20 - $99.73 Hourly
Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it.
