The clinical educator is responsible for the development, design, coordination, delivery and management of educational activities and professional development programs to foster the development of competence in clinical staff. Education will be accomplished in the clinical and classroom environment. The clinical educator serves as a consultant and resource for staff caring for patients (i.e. Nurses) as well as ancillary department staff (i.e. Technicians). Utilizing appropriate education frameworks, nursing theories and adult-learning theories, the clinical educator assesses and determines learning needs, implements education programs, and evaluates education outcomes. Minimum Education: Licensed as an RN in the state of California BSN required Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred Minimum Experience/Knowledge: Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse Acute care nursing experience with formal or informal experience in an educator role preferred Required License/Certification: California Registered Nurse License Certification in clinical specialty or management desired Med/Surg Telemetry and Float Pool: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, AB508 (within 60 days of hire) BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP must be AHA certified. All certifications must be active effective date of hire/transfer unless otherwise indicated.
