We have what is called a "trans nurse". They live on L&D and go to all the deliveries to make sure the baby is okay. If the baby is not, they perform the care needed, and get them transferred to NICU if necessary. There is also a lactation team who helps the mother and baby with breastfeeding. We will take Antepartum patients that are less than 20 weeks if needed. We will sometimes take a gynecology patient and will take a re-admit with a post- partum diagnosis.
