Overview RN Charge Nurse Day Shift opportunity at Keystone Treatment Center Day Shift Charge Nurse 7am - 7pm We are looking for individuals who are passionate about substance abuse and mental health. Since its inception in 1973, Keystone Treatment Center has established itself as a nationally recognized inpatient and outpatient treatment center for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns. At our inpatient facility in Canton, South Dakota, just 30 minutes from Sioux Falls, we treat adolescents and adults age 19 and older of all genders who are struggling with addictions to alcohol and other drugs. Through a variety of transformative treatments, which may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), experiential groups, and the 12-Step model, Keystone Treatment Center delivers evidence-based care in an atmosphere of trust and honesty. For those who need to rid their bodies of substances prior to beginning treatment, we also offer medical detoxification with 24/7 monitoring. With a semirural setting on 13 acres of land, our facility allows for quaint moments of reflection and serenity throughout the treatment process. At Keystone Treatment Center, we tailor our treatment plans to each unique individual, offering gender-specific programming to all patients and programming that is directly geared toward those who are struggling with a gambling addiction. We also incorporate elements of spirituality, and our experiential therapies include ropes courses along with arts and crafts. Additionally, we feature programming that specifically focuses on reflecting the traditions, practices, and values of the Native American culture. PURPOSE STATEMENT: Provide supervision of a unit or work group for a specified shift at the facility in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Collaborate with others to ensure that all patients' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints. Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety Provide direct care for patients as well as monitor and coordinate other nurses and members of the staff on the daily medical or behavioral health care activities of the unit. Schedule staff to ensure full coverage at all times and to ensure effective application of services. Lead, guide and train employees performing work. Oversee and provide direct nursing evaluation, consultation and other related care to patients as required. Coordinate services and maintain communication with other departments or staff as required. Oversee quality assurance activities and compliance to operational standards, participate in program development, development or implementation of operating policy and procedure and promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices as requested. Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, case managers, coworkers and others in an effective manner. Complete and maintain required documentation. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required. Two or more years' experience as a RN required. Two or more years' in behavioral health experience preferred. One or more years' supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred. LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Current RN license within the state where facility is providing service. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility.
