About the unit
Corewell Taylor ICU is a 16 bed Medical ICU. Here you will receive a variety of medical diagnoses. We provide care for patients requiring ventilator support, medication management and surgery recovery. We assist physicians with various bedside procedures. The nurses work alongside of the Intensivist and the multi-disciplinary teams providing care and daily updates concerning the patient progress.

It offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography).
Scope of work
The?Charge?Lead Nurse?role is to provide direct oversight and supervision of all on line unit processes. This is inclusive of but not limited to staffing and scheduling changes affecting current shift, patient care issues and concerns. Appropriate allocation of resources responding to all codes, and handling employee issues and concerns. In addition to ensuring consistent flow of patients through the department. Functions within the framework of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates growth/development.

Qualifications
- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
