We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to lead our Rigging Team as a Craft Supervisor I. The Rigging Supervisor I oversees a variety of skilled mechanics and crane operators performing duties involving deck machinery, engine room work, electronic equipment, testing, steel/pipe work, general dock, rudders, shafting, wheel work, anchor chain and flight deck safety net related work. Load and pull testing of various pieces of equipment can also be expected of this position. The Rigging Supervisor I oversee the safe operation of equipment for assembly and installation by subordinates; pre-operational inspections of equipment and review findings and take necessary actions for correction with reports to management, records work performed and ensure compliance s with specified safety policies and procedures.
Must be able to perform and communicate Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), demonstrate high level deck plate leadership skills and abilities to subordinate mechanics with minimal oversight. The selected Candidate will be required to work Week end shift. All new employees will be subject to a background investigation as well as customer approval. 6+ Years with HSD or GED / 4+ Years with AA / 2+ Years with BS. Or a combination of both education and experience. The Selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Defense Biometric Identification Systems Card Access known as "DBIDS". Key Responsibilities:
This list is a non-conclusive representative of the key areas of responsibilities required of a Supervisor I the rigging craft. A Rigging Supervisor I must demonstrate a high degree of diverse and inclusive leadership traits with expert knowledge of the skills and abilities required to perform tasks in these and related areas of responsibility, while directing a team of junior mechanics. Expert knowledge means that the mechanic understands how to perform and lead tasks in these categories (including, but not limited to, the specific tasks identified below) and is able to complete them independently, teach others how to complete the tasks, and serve as a leader regarding these areas of knowledge as well as overall project scope. This also means that the supervisor has the necessary level of knowledge of the personnel, equipment, protective gear, and machinery required to safely complete these tasks. A rigging supervisor I also is expected to strategize independently, problem-solve, and contribute to project planning and execution, demonstrate an expert understanding of vessel compartments, number systems and related vessel terminology for multiple ship platforms naval and commercial. Knowledge of job planning and executing, proper gear selection, leading other junior mechanics and helpers with minimal supervision. Must demonstrate an expert knowledge of the skills, functional knowledge and abilities required to perform tasks in these and other related areas of responsibility. OSHA Maritime Series, Safe Crane Awareness and Critical Lifts as defined in NAVSEA Standard Items. Responsible for ensuring that company goals for Safety, Quality and Productivity are aggressively pursued
Oversee and monitor schedule performance including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, investigate late activities, and assist project supervision in development of practical solutions. Monitor and evaluate project budget performance including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, develop productivity enhancements and investigate over-budget items. Allocate personnel and resources to efficiently support all contracts (including shift work) Monitor productivity across all shifts including the amount and type of work assigned as well as the quality and quantity of work accomplished. Review project schedules and budgets during the planning phase. Ensure that Company policies are adhered to and the policies are clearly understood by subordinates (ISO, Environmental and Safety). Train and motivate employees in the areas of technical knowledge, safety, environmental and communication. Ensure that inter-departmental relations are maintained. Ensure that requirements of the labor agreement are properly enforced. Full-Time Salary Range: $71600 - $121700 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
