RF Antenna Technician - TS/SCI REQUIRED Job Category: Engineering and Technical Support Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 25% Type of Travel: Local CACI is seeking a RF Antenna Technician to support our mission critical program in Springfield, VA. What You'll Get to Do: As the RF Antenna Technician, you will, in part, perform semi-annual antenna and radio frequency (RF) systems Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on antennas, RF conditioning units (RFCU), RF distribution units (RFDU), antenna switches and RF transmission lines at the forward detachments of the 719 MI BN. This scheduled maintenance is essential to pinpoint and repair degradation, ensuring maximum performance of the RF systems exposed to the harsh mountaintop environment. More About the Role: Diagnoses and performs maintenance and repairs on critical antenna, radio frequency distribution (RFD) subsystems, and antenna test systems. Performs tests and maintenance, installation/de-installation, integration, engineering and technical support to the antenna superstructure including towers, support structures, pedestals, cables, controllers, and RFD systems. Fault isolates and maintains electronic assemblies such as preamplifiers, cables, receivers, demodulators, converters, servo-systems, analog and digital displays, computers, printers, recorders, input/output devices, and LAN infrastructure. Implements testing, emergency maintenance, and repair of signals intelligence equipment down to LRU and component-level. Assures systems and equipment operations and maintenance comply with physical, operational, security, safety, environmental and communications regulations and equipment specifications. Provides maintenance support to various customers in support of several of the site's suite of parabolic antennas. Provides depot and field level field engineering and maintenance support to intelligence and electronic warfare systems, training and technical advice to technical personnel assigned to perform Electronics Systems Maintenance. Provides specialized technical support within the Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) to accommodate fielding of Intelligence Electronic Warfare (IEW) systems and human intelligence support equipment. Oversees and performs complex system level troubleshooting using U.S. Military and commercial computer diagnostic software and special system unique test equipment. Assures systems and equipment operations and maintenance comply with physical, operational, security, safety, environmental and communications regulations and equipment specifications. Completes fault isolation, maintenance, and component-level repair of all system electronic assemblies such as preamplifiers, receivers, demodulators, converters, servo-systems, antenna drive motors, analog and digital displays. Provides integration, engineering and technical support to the antenna superstructure including towers, radomes, support structures, controllers, pedestals, cables, connectors and radio frequency distribution systems. Develops engineering input to the preparation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and technical design packages. Inspects, diagnoses and performs complex maintenance and repairs on a diverse collection of antennas, down to component level. Familiar with KA, KU, C, and X band equipment and satellite operations. Completes fault isolation, maintenance, and component-level repair of all system electronic assemblies such as preamplifiers, receivers, demodulators, converters, servo-systems, antenna drive motors, analog and digital displays. Provides integration, engineering and technical support to the antenna superstructure including towers, radomes, support structures, controllers, pedestals, cables, connectors and radio frequency distribution systems. Inspects, tests, diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs and performs preventive maintenance on complex antenna and radio frequency distribution systems. Ensures antennas, preamplifiers, power supply/multicouplers, RF switches, receivers and RF transmission lines operating optimally Validate RF systems optimal connectivity and phase matching at the microscopic level, using a 5-function cable/RF systems test set and an RF Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) in reflection/transmission modes to validate VSWR-FREQ, VSWR-DTF and RF insertion loss. Multiple tests ensure maximum RF performance of amplifiers, filters and transmission lines in the path. Perform testing to confirm that all RF systems are optimally connected with minimal loss, operating linearly and performing at maximum capability. Perform testing with the spectrum analyzer and time domain reflectometer at maximum sensitivity settings to further pinpoint any degradations needing repair, to ensure RF systems are running at maximum sensitivity and power. Performs tests on electrical, electro-optical, and electro-mechanical equipment using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, RF network analyzers and other complex and specialized test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE), wire diagrams, logic and signal flow charts, technical manuals, troubleshooting charts, performance aids, schematic, and logic diagrams. You'll Bring These Qualifications: Associate Degree in Electronics or related field from an accredited college/university + two years of relevant experience Four years of military training in MI Systems Maintenance and Integration, RF Antenna maintenance and installation may be considered in lieu of degree Experience on maintenance and integration on one or more of the following: GRCS; Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance Surveillance System (EMARSS) mission equipment; Tactical Command Data Link (TDCL); GRCS Operational Ground Station (OGS); Distributed Common Ground Station- Army (DCGS-A); software defined SIGINT collection platforms; biometrics collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination equipment; CI/HUMINT support systems; TROJAN systems or satellite communication terminals providing TDN2; TENCAP systems; or intelligence non-standard equipment. Information assurance certifications for Tier I and II computer, servers, networks and global intelligence architectures integration and maintenance are desired. Knowledge of SATCOM functional units and processes such as low noise block (LNB), down converters, up converters, monitor and control processes. Knowledge of communications, software and peripherals used in satellite communications systems. Performs satellite antenna siting and orientation.
