As a Retail Team Member at the Thrill Capital of New England

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Greet and ask guests about their favorite ride as they enter your store or approach your register
  • Offer suggestions to help souvenir-seeking guests find their perfect keepsake
  • Tell shoppers about add-on accessories and other upsells to raise sales
  • Re-stock bins, shelves, fixtures, and displays with the newest and coolest merchandise
  • Operate Point of Sale (POS) registers; ringing up transactions and coordinating payment
  • Check in shipments of new merchandise
  • Keep aisles, countertops, and displays clean and looking great
  • Ring up everything from candy to apparel to action figures and homemade fudge
  • Be on alert for store security and loss prevention

How You Will Do It:

  • Friendly, outgoing personality inviting guests to your cart, shop, or register
  • Ability to work in an environment as fast-paced as our coasters
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to the Six Flags mantra
  • Positive attitude to make guests excited about their souvenirs
  • Have a passion for shopping
  • Strong attention to detail

What You Will Need:

  • Must be 16 years or older
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to handle cash accurately
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and reach throughout your shift
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills; Ability to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays

ERRORS/SAFETY

Errors in performance, mismanaged paperwork, improper training, or failure to adhere and enforce Operations policies as stated in any Standard Operating Procedures Manual may result in injury to yourself and others. Risk may increase when working with ladders or moving merchandise. Errors in performance may result in POS Transaction variances of up to $50. Responsible for maintaining a safe work and guest environment.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS

Direct and continuous contact with guests and team members in merchandise locations. Frequent contact with service representatives and manufacturing representatives.

Requires normal visual and mental demand.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • Requires continuous standing, walking, and gross motor skills, near vision, color definition, hearing, and speech
  • Requires frequent kneeling, bending, reaching above the shoulder, manual dexterity, eye/hand coordination, and far vision
  • Requires occasional climbing, pushing, pulling, bi-manual dexterity, and stepping up/down
  • Rarely works in a difficult position or uses fine motor skills
  • Continuously lifts and carries up to 5 pounds
  • Frequently lifts and carries 6-25 pounds
  • Occasionally lifts and carries 26 pounds or more
  • Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours at a time, up to 14 hours per day

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Usually works inside, but occasionally works outside or where shelter is minimal such as beside a cart or in stores where shelter is less than complete
  • Frequently works with others and is exposed to wind, dust, heat/cold, and excessive humidity/dampness
  • Is exposed to detergents/cleaners and walks on uneven surfaces
  • Occasionally works on ladders.
  • Must be able to function in all weather conditions for long periods of time
