Respiratory Therapist

We are currently seeking a Full-time Respiratory Therapist

The RT will report to the Director of Respiratory Clinical Services.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols. Comply with all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care.

2. Develop/maintain technical knowledge of the respiratory products/services provided by CareMed and be able to provide information of same to others upon request.

3. Educate patients in proper use and care of respiratory equipment, primarily PAP equipment in both the office and home settings.

4. Inform the physicians and appropriate others of the changes in the patient's condition/status through reports and email, fax and telephone communications.

5. Assist in resolving patient therapy and equipment problems.

6. Perform troubleshooting and required maintenance checks on PAP related equipment, bag and tag ad enter into Brightree according to CareMed policy.

7. Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with company policy.

8. Document/complete timely and accurately all therapy and patient interactions into Brightree along with appropriate paperwork according to CareMed policy

9. Assist compliance team with achieving CareMed patient compliance goals.

10. Maintain PAP pick up rates in accordance with CareMed goals.

11. Deliver patient care in a professional and courteous manner meeting the customer services standards according to CareMed policy.

12. Provide patient equipment and supplies according to the physicians' prescription while achieving CareMed goals and standards for same equipment and supplies

13. Assist with implementation of quality improvement program to meet company and accreditation standards.

14. All other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree required
Experience in HME or Home Health industry preferred or equivalent experience in respiratory therapy.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Must carry personal liability car insurance with a minimum limit of $100,000.

Required Knowledge/Experience:

Knowledge of Respiratory Therapy and related HME equipment.

Required Licenses / Certifications:

CRTT, RRT, with state license if required, or licensed nurse

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must currently live in, or plan to move to (at your own expense) a reasonable commute to Jackson, MS.
Courteous Customer Service (internally and externally)
Must love helping People (both internally and externally)
High level of attention to detail
Able to manage multiple priorities and close the loop when interrupted
Must be able to pass background requirements and drug screenings
Must have valid driver's license with proof of clean driving record

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs
Ability to stoop, bend over, kneel, sit or stand for extended periods of times as needed to meet customer's needs
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is required to sit and stand.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
This position requires the ability to drive an automobile
Must be 21 years of age to comply with company auto insurance regulations.

CareMed offers a competitive wage of $30-33/hour , plus benefits which include: paid holidays, PTO, group health insurance, as well as a retirement plan.
