Overview: Commonwealth Senior Living is currently seeking a Resident Program Director who will supervise and monitor the "Sweet Memories" and Assisted Living programs to meet the specific needs of each and all residents in order to ensure the residents remain as engaged, healthy and as active as possible. The programs designed should encompass activities that require the use of all five senses for the residents and is executed in consultation with the Executive Director and other community leaders. The Resident Program Director works closely with the Resident Care Director to document any changes in behavior or condition. They also work with the care staff to coordinate resident care, resident activities and grow an extraordinary group of individuals to serve our residents. He or She is a Culture Ambassador. Plans seven-day per week activity calendar (s) that promotes resident participation in a structured environment; includes one to one programming for residents who cannot participate in a group setting. Work closely with the Resident Care Director on a daily basis to better serve the residents, family, visitors and staff in the community. Functions as a team leader in Sweet Memories and helps maintain the social, safety, and behavioral environment in memory care. Provides guidance and acts as a resource to staff on the importance of good dementia approaches and activity programs and other areas regarding the quality of life for residents. Follow state-mandated Assisted Living Facility regulations. Manages and oversees the delivery our CSL Signature Service Programs to Sweet Memories and Assisted Living residents. Complete and maintain all documentation required by company standards/or state regulations. Communicates to families regarding resident's involvement in activity program. Participate in resident move-in processes in the "Sweet Memories" neighborhood and Assisted Living activity programs. Assists in touring and customer contact to maintain desired occupancy as needed. Participates in coordinating special events at the community to include family nights and open houses. Manages volunteer program, including training and supervising volunteers. Manages transportation for outings and medical transportation as needed. Directly supervises any Program Assistants or Activity Assistants in all duties and responsibilities to include interviewing, planning and, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Associates degree in a healthcare field OR a certified activities professional by a recognized accrediting body preferred. At least 1-2 years' fulltime work experience, within the last five years, in an activities program in an adult care setting, or similarly related experience with specialized memory care. CPR and First Aid certification are required. Must be willing to obtain a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) certification (training provided). Must have a thorough knowledge of social and psychological needs of residents. Ability to work without close supervision and follow verbal and written instructions. Must have the ability to work effectively with technology and maintain or assist in maintaining our SMILE family engagement/calendar creator platform. Must have an acceptable driving record that allows driver to be insured on the company insurance. Must have a valid driver's license to transport residents to activities. Skilled in plans, development, and preparation of a variety of exercise, social, recreational and educational events. Ability to promote teamwork and inspire positive attitudes among the staff to monitor/attend activities with other disciplines as needed. Ability to provide continuous evaluation of the quality and consistency of activities for residents and adjusts, corrections, and changes as needed.
