POSITION TITLE: Resident Monitor

DEPARTMENT: Casa Raphael, SUD-ODS Residential Services

REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor

FLSA: Full-time, Non-Exempt

SALARY: $19.00 Hourly

SHIFT: Wednesday - Sunday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Operations Supervisor, the Resident Monitor is responsible for the safety of the facility, residents, and staff. The Resident Monitor will possess strong communication skills and identify opportunities for improving services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor, and limit access to individuals who are not residents, facility staff, volunteers, or authorized visitors.

  • Assist Casa Raphael Intake staff as requested by intake and/or clinical staff.

  • Assist Case Managers with exiting residents.

  • Receive incoming telephone calls and transfer calls to the requested and/or appropriate staff member or voice mail.

  • Ensure effective telephone communications by always using the approved greeting .

  • Maintain the name, address, and telephone number of emergency agencies, including but not limited to the fire department, crisis center, ambulance service, or paramedical unit.

  • Conduct radio and property checks hourly from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Conduct room checks at 11:00 p.m., 1:00 a.m., and 3:00 a.m. to ensure all residents comply with program rules and guidelines.

  • Safeguard the Security Log. The Security Log will only be accessible to security personnel and paid Casa Raphael staff members.

  • Adhere to program compliance with organization and contractual mandates, including confidentiality laws.

  • Communicate and adhere to program policies and procedures, including SUDPOH, Casa Raphael Operations Manual, Employee Handbook, and Health/Safety Handbooks.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.

  • Sitting at a desk for sometimes long and continuous periods;

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and stooping;

  • The employee may lift and move up to 25 pounds, and standing and walking are routine elements of the position;

  • Exposure to low to moderate noise.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to follow policies and procedures established in the Company's Employee Handbook. Candidates will also contribute to a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a manner such that they get along with all constituent groups, co-workers, and management. In addition, the education, experience, and other skills listed below represent the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • One (1) year of residential security experience

CERTIFICATION
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Red Cross First Aid certification.

KEY SKILLS SET
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook, required;

  • The ability to communicate in person, over the phone, and in writing, required;

  • The ability to adhere to policies and procedures, required;

  • Effectively problem-solve and maintain composure in high-pressure situations, required;

  • The ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision, required;.

  • Problem solving and conflict resolution experience, required;

  • Compassionate culturally responsive person-centered service approach, required;

  • Knowledge of overdose prevention and Naloxone distribution emergency response, required;

  • Peer experience and Bilingual (any language) candidates are encouraged to apply.
