Research Staff/Technician Engineer with Security Clearance

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Research Staff/Technician Engineer located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH. The Research Staff/Technician Engineer's primary function will be to provide optical engineering support for the thermal blooming HEL lab while supporting the Air Force Institute of Technology Center for Directed Energy (AFIT/CDE). Conduct in-house and collaborative research projects to aid in further validation of software tools and to note additional ways to provide users additional capabilities
Participate in and/or present research efforts and findings at meetings to update the DE community on funded-task fulfillments
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements: Must be a US citizen
3 Years' experience in a laboratory setting
Bachelors or better in optics/physics or related field
Active DoD Secret or ability to obtain/maintain
Matlab and Mathematica experience required
Working knowledge of 3D CAD Software
Comprehension of mechanical and electrical systems (pumps, power supplies, interlocks)
Basic LAN networking
