Posted Job Title Research Specialist C Job Profile Title Research Specialist C Job Description Summary The Metabolic Discovery Center at Penn in the Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Specialist. The research interests of the Center lie at the intersection of molecular imaging and biomedicine. Our lab seeks to leverage molecular imaging to characterize disease biology. The lab utilizes a multidisciplinary approach from integrating biochemistry, chemistry, and imaging physics. Our research emphasizes translation with direct clinical applications for the development novel imaging strategies for patients. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and have excellent organizational skills. This position offers the opportunity to participate in an innovative research environment, gain hands-on experience with a variety of experimental techniques, and make critical contributions to primary research publications. Qualified individuals will be expected to develop and implement protocols and regulatory documents for the preparation of imaging contrast agents in patients following GMP guidelines. Additional duties include maintenance of imaging equipment and the optimization of chemical preparation of novel imaging substrates. Qualified individuals must have a bachelor's degree in science, at least 3 years of prior laboratory experience in an area of biological or physical sciences, exceptional organizational skills, willingness to work with animals, desire to work as part of a dynamic research environment individually and in a team. Prior experience in biochemistry, chemistry or pharmacy is required. Experience with aseptic technique, good laboratory practice (GLP) and/or good manufacturing practice (GMP) and/or hyperpolarized MRI is preferred. In addition, the position will require significant lab managerial responsibilities as well as oversight of lab personnel and their research.
