Departmental Overview The Research Coordinator will collaborate within the UC Berkeley School of Education Leadership Programs department to support the initiatives of the 21CSLA State Center research-oriented activities. This involves designing, conducting, promoting, and supporting various educational programs for practicing educational leaders across the state of California. The Research Coordinators will research and assess the educational needs and interests for various types of educational leaders in the state such as teacher leaders, assistant principals, principals, and district office leaders, and develop programs, materials, technology and learning approaches accordingly in collaboration with K-12 and higher education partners. The role involves working with researchers across the University of California systems, producing quarterly research webinars, drafting and publishing multiple research briefs related to educational leadership, and supporting action research projects in the field. Position Summary The Research Coordinator will coordinate with the UC Berkeley Professional Development Providers network, College and Career Academy Support Network, and Principal Leadership Institute to support the initiatives of the 21CA School Leadership Academy Regional Academy activities. This involves designing, conducting, promoting, and supporting various educational programs for practicing educational leaders in the seven counties of the Bay Area. The Research Coordinator will research and assess the educational needs and interests for various types of educational leaders in the Region such as teacher leaders, assistant principals, principals, and district office leaders, and develop programs, materials, technology and learning approaches accordingly in collaboration with the partners named above. Application Review Date The First Review Date for this job is: 04/25/2024. Responsibilities Establishes evaluation criteria for measuring desired results and impact. Uses considerable discretion to determine methods and procedures to support the research team and evaluators with data collection and analysis. Plans and develops professional learning offerings for collective meetings and center functions. Evaluates prospective program partnerships. Recruits, selects, orients, evaluates and supervises professional development providers. Develops, prepares and reconciles budget for program(s). Evaluates and adjusts course content through evaluations and levels of interest shown. Required Qualifications Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Advanced analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and/or can quickly learn the organization's policies and procedures. Advanced knowledge of functional area and understands how work impacts other areas of public educational programs. Advanced knowledge of accredited and/or certificate program instruction and delivery methodologies, the organization, market and business strategies. Continuing education in related field required. Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Salary & Benefits This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career position, which is paid monthly and eligible for UC Benefits. Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
