Schedule: Monday - Friday (40 hrs/wk) 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Department: R&I Innovation - 249 Primary Purpose: The Research Coordinator I is responsible for a broad range of administrative activities within the ARUP Innovation Business Unit. This role supports one or more departments, but normally works in a confidential and highly responsible relationship with management. The Research Coordinator may facilitate the progress of research projects including project definition and scope, deliverables, risk assessment, project tracking, and status reporting. The Research Coordinator performs activities requiring a working knowledge of department policies, processes, and procedures. Essential Functions: Supports department staff in research activities. Functions as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders on assigned projects. Coordinates communications as warranted including scheduling meetings and maintaining management calendars. Provides administrative support with moderate latitude to make decisions within the program scope. Interfaces with all levels of ARUP personnel to coordinate departmental efforts with information exchange requiring strong interpersonal skills. Assembles, reviews, and reports complex data from various sources to produce detailed project reports. Ensures excellent attention to detail in all aspects of administrative and coordinating responsibilities. Addresses confidential and high priority matters with a good measure of personal tact, integrity, and judgement when dealing with internal and external contacts. Supports aspects of complex projects as requested. Coordinates and arranges on-site sponsor visits, audits, and meetings. Manages department documentation within various software applications including Teams, Smartsheet, Jira, and Master Control. Supports routine and complex department purchasing and procurement with expense reconciliation in OpsView. Troubleshoots and creatively resolves issues related to assigned projects. Coordinates and collaborates with subject matter experts to assist with project planning, implementation, execution, and monitoring. As delegated, handles invoicing, payment tracking, and applicable department cost transfers. Anticipates the unique needs within the supported department(s), requiring strong rapport with all team members. Other duties as assigned. Physical and Other Requirements: Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Communicate: Frequently communicate with others. PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies. ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.
