Summary The Department of Neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital seeks to fill a position for a full-time NIH-funded Research Coordinator. Initial job contract will be for one year full-time, with the opportunity for renewal based on funding ability and performance. Funding is available for at least 2 more years. This coordinator will provide technical assistance with research projects investigating speech perception and production in the brain. Job Duties Patient participant recruitment and follow-up, data collection of human neurophysiology data, data management, and general lab management. subject recruitment for neuroscience studies and manage the lab including management of IRBs, ordering lab supplies, maintaining databases. Running experiments and collecting human neurophysiology recordings in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) at Texas Children's Hospital, curating data for transfer to collaborators at UT Austin, and working closely with clinical staff in the EMU. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Three years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in neuroscience or cognitive science, engineering, or related fields. Prior research experience in neuroscience, physiology, psychology, or related areas. Strong technical skills. Must be strongly detail-oriented and organized. Knowledge of data collection for electrophysiology (scalp EEG or intracranial EEG preferred, but other electrophysiology experience also appreciated). Pediatric experience.
