Research Associate Department: Services (Lab) Employment Type: Full Time Location: Menlo Park, CA Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 / year Description As a Research Associate on the Enable team, you will develop and implement laboratory protocols for high-parameter imaging and sequencing assays and collaborate with our Scientific and Engineering teams to build seamless workflows to go from data generation to data analysis. You will also assist in the preparation of high-impact scientific publications, including the potential for co-authorship, with many of the top academic research groups in the world. This is a critical and cross-functional role as it sits at the core of Enable's efforts to build biological maps of disease to better guide drug development. Important logistics: This is an in-person position based in Menlo Park, CA Working hours are between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday-Friday At Enable, you will work with the rest of the Laboratory Operations team to: Implement high-parameter (40+ proteins) immunofluorescence staining protocols and single-cell sequencing protocols on human and murine tissue Prepare samples and reagents for use in these protocols Develop and implement improved staining and sequencing protocols to increase the efficiency and accuracy of assays Analyze multiplexed imaging and sequencing data in collaboration with our Scientists Track and update standard operating procedures and materials and methods and draft sections of scientific manuscripts Track and maintain sufficient inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment in our laboratory through our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Assist with the onboarding and training of new laboratory personnel Who you are: BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field with 2+ years of commercial industry experience Experience working in a wet lab environment, including pipetting, running conjugations and gels, and tissue preparation Ability to maintain detailed records of experiments and outcomes; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Team-oriented and low ego Experience with laboratory tracking systems, including spreadsheet and word processing applications and laboratory notebooks Experience with immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), microscopy, and/or single-cell sequencing strongly preferred Experience or willingness to learn quantitative image analysis of multiplexed imaging data
