Research Associate II-Senior Research Associate Antibody Characterization Vancouver, WA We are currently seeking a Research Associate II/Senior Research Associate to join our Protein Engineering and Structural Biology Team. You will play a significant role in performing broad antibody characterization to support our reverse immunology platform. You will leverage your background in biochemical characterization of proteins and antibodies and experience performing high-throughput immunoassays such as AlphaLISA, ELISA, biolayer interferometry (BLI), and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) to support ongoing drug discovery programs at Absci. This position requires strategic thinking and high collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams within Absci, including experimental design and execution. The ideal candidate will have experience in various areas, such as working across dynamic teams, collaborating on antibody characterization efforts, designing and executing experiments related to various antibody characterization techniques, and presenting findings and progress updates to team members and stakeholders. Your passion for driving initiatives, and ability to work autonomously will reinforce our antibody validation and optimization pipeline. Responsibilities: Perform and analyze BLI kinetic measurements to validate a diverse set of antibody/antigen pairs and meet project goals. Aid in the design and execution of functional experiments to analyze antibody/ligand/receptor interactions. Develop and standardize novel assays and assist with the integration of automation to streamline antibody discovery and characterization processes Analyze data and perform model fitting using software such as GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Excel, or JMP. Contribute to the refinement of standard operating procedures, and participating in the preparation of technical reports Preparing and presenting progress reports to the team and other stakeholders as needed Support sample handling along with inventory tracking and management Qualifications: Minimum of MSc (1 years of experience) or BSc (2 years of experience) in Biology, Biochemistry, Structural Biology or related fields. Ability to work in a cross-functional, highly collaborative team environment Excellent communication skills Attention to detail and a critical eye Experience working with electronic notebook systems such as OneNote or Benchling Preferred (but not required): Experience with assays to measure antibody-antigen interactions (BLI, SPR, ELISA, etc.) Knowledge of antibody sequence, structure, and function. The salary range for this position is $75,000- $90,000/year. Competitive equity package applies. Pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
