Research Assistant

Salary/Position Classification 13.50 Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime) 15-20 hours per week 100% Remote Work Availability: No Hybrid Work Availability: No Purpose of Position Assist researchers in lab setting. Duties & Responsibilities Make solutions accurately and consistently (including calculations) Handle all equipment safely Maintain multiple types of cells in culture using sterile technique Maintain a complete and detailed research notebook Utilize basic software and analysis platforms (i.e. Office, Photoshop, etc.) Generate nanomaterials for characterization and testing Required Competencies Must be able to work constructively in a diverse laboratory team environment and be willing to communicate their research results in informal and formal settings. The individual will be required to complete appropriate lab safety training in compliance with the UND Office of Safety guidelines and state and federal regulations. The individual will be required to maintain safe and ethical research practice while on the job. Minimum Requirements Has completed the majority of the core Biology courses with good academic standing. Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor's degree with a major or a minor in Biology or Chemistry is preferred.
