Research and Development Technician

Research and Development Technician Position Scope We are looking for a Technician to support the Battery Pack group. We are building Li-Metal battery cells and packs and push the limits of fundamental electrochemistry. This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of battery cells and packs. This person will specifically help in these areas: Pack assembling: cell preparation, tab welding Cell/Pack test preparation: ordering/assembling cables, connecting them to cells/packs Pack testing: balancing the packs when needed Cell/pack analysis after tests: removing cells/packs from test cyclers, unclamping cells or disassembling packs, End-Of-Life OC V&A CRv thickness measurements, cell/pack disposal Cell/pack teardowns: help with teardowns of tested cells/packs Test data preparation: helping with data analysis Test equipment servicing/troubleshooting: helping with service/repair of test equipment The position is based in Woburn, MA, and cannot be done remotely. Requirements High School Diploma or BS degree would be a plus 3+ years of relevant work experience with Li-Ion/Li-Metal cell assembly, testing, or manufacturing. An eye for detail and dedication to quality workmanship. Ability to manage data in Excel, Matlab, Maple, etc. Experience with batteries is a plus but not critical if able to learn quickly. Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; approachable with the ability to maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
